It generally displays the mighty Start button at the left and the so called System tray at the right.
Some times, while playing with windows(may be your kids while dragging some icon or program), it is possible that the position of this task bar is changed to the desktop top, left or right positions. Even though it is a very minor issue for most of us, for newbies, it creates headaches.
This guide explains you, how to fix the position of task bar on desktop to a specific place.
  Steps for fixing task bar..

Right click your mouse on windows task bar
A context menu will be displayed with several menu items to chose.
Generally, the last but one(the second from last) menu item will be "Lock the task bar" option.
Click it to turn it on. When you turn on a small right mark will be displayed at the left side of the menu item.
Once your turn it on, you'll not be able to move or reposition the task bar.

Creating Text Shadows is very simple in MS Word. For a beginner it seems to be a big pc problem but it is very easy. The application of shadows to text with a nice color, font size with a good font makes the text very professional. To experiment with text shadow options, follow the steps given bellow..

Type some sample text like "Word Shadows looks great."

Go to Format menu, Open Font dialog box(You can press Ctrl+D as a short cut), Set the Font size to 36, Font to Times New Roman and Color to Red.

To turn on the shadows, in the same Font dialog box, Turn ON Shadow check box. This apply's shadow effect to the selected text. You can uncheck the box to remove applied shadow's too. Now click OK button to close Font dialog box.

Now, you can see the applied shadow with size, color etc. on your MS Word work area.

You can also use Word Art facility from MS Word to have better shadow options with stylish text.

When we read news papers, we can observe that the information is devided into number of small columns of text rather than a single large text paragraph. This type paragraph division into different number of columns can be done very easily in MS Word. Pc problem like this can be very tricky for beginners and these columns are refered as Newspaper
columns.

To experiment with text column options, follow the steps given bellow..

Open a file consisting of some information. Alternatively, if you dont have ready made text to experiement, just select and copy the following block of information into MS Word and paste there.

You can open documents in many different locations from the Open dialog box in Word. You	can open a document on your computer hard disk or on a network drive that you have a connection to. You can also open a document on a network, even if you don't have a
connection to a network server, as long as your network supports UNC addresses.

If your company has an intranet, or if you have access to the Internet (for example, if you have a modem and an Internet account through an Internet service provider, or if you are in a corporation and have access through the network), you can open a document located at an HTTP site on the World Wide Web or at an FTP site. If your company has an intranet, you can open documents there. For information about how to set up Internet access, see the
Microsoft Office 97 Resource Kit. For information about how to obtain the Office Resource Kit, click.

For documents located on your computer hard disk or on a network drive that you have write access to, you can open a document as a copy if you want to create and work on a copy of the document instead of the original. And regardless of where the document is located, you can open a document as read-only if you want to make sure you don't change the original document.

Now let us try to devide the 2nd paragraph text into 3 different column text. First we need to select the text to be devided into columns. Refer the bellow screen shot for how the selection is made.

Now click the Columns Menu Item from Format Menu. In the Columns dialog box, select Three columns option. You can also set this by using Number of columns option. Refer the screen shot shown bellow.

You can use Line between option to have a physical devider line between columns. You can also use Width and Spacing option to specify individual columns width and the spacing to be used. After making all selections, click OK. Now You can see the paragraph devided into three columns. See screen shot bellow.

You can experiement with other options available in columns dialog box to find how they works.

One of my customer bought an Asrock motherboard with intel 845 GV chipset. He was using Windows XP. He said he installed everything from his motherboard cd except the Usb 2.0 drivers which were not given on the cd.

I asked for the motherboard CD and examined it. But it said the Usb 2.0 drivers are not available on the CD. But we can get them with Windows XP Service Pack 1. We use here dialup internet and you know how much time it needs to download the full service pack. Hence it was almost
impossible for me to get the Usb drivers.

Then i searched the net spending hours of time and came up with these Usb 2.0 drivers for Windows XP. It is just around 10kb download which can be downloaded within 15 seconds.

These drivers may be used for almost any motherboard with Intel 845, 845G, 845GV, 845GL, 845GMV chipsets. Commonly Asus, Asrock, Intel, Gigabyte, Msi, Biostar, D-link motherboards using Intel 845xx chipset can use these drivers.

I have checked all the files in driver file(zip file) with AVG Free Antivirus and found no virus. I suggest to check all downloads with your antivirus too after downloading them.

These drivers can only be used with Windows XP. They may not be compatible with Windows 98, ME or 2000.

Click here to download the Intel 845xx chipset Usb 2.0 driver zip
file.

Hope it helps every one. Please leave your feedback too.
