Internet Explorer tips and tricks
Everybody who knows using internet, knows Microsoft Internet Explorer. Many internet users are currently using Internet Explorer for web surfing( even though Fire fox is catching up fast).Many times while using Internet Explorer, you may want to do certain task, which you may not be knowing how to do it. For example Changing homepage, Using a proxy, Turning on or off Pictures, Video or sound etc.
Most of these features, which we frequently need are already built into Internet Explorer. And those features which are not yet available can be used as third party plugins. In this guide we will try to understand how to modify the common features of Internet Explorer when required. Some times these tricks are very useful when we have PC problems.
Changing homepage
Home page is a website url or a webpage which will be automatically opened when Internet Explorer is started. For example, for the first time when we start Internet Explorer, it automatically tries to open Microsoft website. Usually this is done thru home page setting.It is very simple to change the home page to your favourite web site in Internet Explorer. Follow the steps carefully to change the home page. For this example, i will set the home page to http://www.allpcproblems.info site.
- Start Internet Explorer.
- From the Tools menu, click "Internet Options..." item. This displays the Internet Options window as shown bellow.
- Now, delete the contents of "Address :" text box and type the address of your home page as http://www.allpcproblems.info.
- If you dont want to set any homepage, you can click the "Use Blank" button.
- The "Use Default" button sets your homepage to default website(usually microsoft site address).
- The "Use Current" button makes the currently opened website in your browser as the homepage.
