When I insert the drive into usb port, Windows do detect it and asks for drivers but when say finish. It do not show any drive letters in My computer or Windows Explorer. Why?

thanks

Hello,

The plain old Windows 98 itself do not have USB interfacing facility. It is Windows 98 Second edition Which can use USB devices.

Because your Windows do detect the usb drive inserted, we can say that you have Windows 98 SE. Even though Windows 98 SE do support USB, it will not have all required drivers for the usb disk identification.

Hence you need to download and install the free to use usb drive stack(drivers) for Windows 98SE. Then only you can use almost any usb disks including the digital cams, mobile memory card readers etc.

hope it helps you.

bye.
