avi to vcd conversion software needed

I'm a beginner who is using virtual dub to capture movies from vhs to my pc harddisk. I would like to know which are the good avi to vcd conversion softwares available?
Please suggest easy and simple ones only because i'm not so good with PC's.

hi roji, welcome to forums.
most of the softwares available for this type of avi to vcd conversion work are not freewares. I think it is better to buy a conversion software if you can.
If you are not in a position to buy any one of them, Try vcdgear which is freeware. It may help you. But i find it not so user friendly for beginners.

sarah you are not completely correct. there is a free version of Tmpgenc, the top rated freeware for video file format conversion.
roji, what you need is actually a software for converting from avi to mpg format. once the conversion is done successfully, you can use a software like nero, to write it on to cd.

There are literally hundreds of softwares available for avi to mpg (vcd) format conversions. tmpgenc, winavi, main concept mpeg encoder, zealot avi to vcd converter, #1 vcd converter etc. etc.
just download them from any shareware site, try them and if you are satisfied with their conversion speed and quality then only buy them.

You can try Xilisoft Avi to Mpeg converter too. I heard some good reviews about the same.
btw, Ace video workshop is also worth trying.
